Developments in National Women's Ministry

There has been restructuring at the National Ministry Centre regarding a few of our CMA ministries. One of the ministries impacted is National Women’s Ministry with the position of National Director being dissolved, as of June 30, 2018. Please be assured you that this does not mean the end of Women’s Ministry, but it does mean the format has changed.

National Women’s Ministry will continue through the ministry of District Women’s Ministry Directors. This National Women's Ministry Network will continue to provide vision and oversight for Women’s Ministry nationally to ensure that each District is provided with resources, support and the opportunity to network with other Districts. There are six Districts in Canada with five of them currently represented by a District Director. As of July 1, 2018, Cheryl Peitsch assumed the role of the Facilitator/Chair of the National Women's Ministry Network Team.

Secondary to the structural changes, there will no longer by a National WM Project. The current project “Hope for the Brokenhearted” has been extended to December 31, 2018. The decision to do this was made secondary to some promotional challenges, which impacted the support of this very worthwhile project.

Understandably, you may have some questions. If so, feel free to contact Cheryl Peitsch at 204-955-4976 (capeitsch@gmail.com) or contact your District Director.

Women’s Ministries:

Women Ministering to Women

Message from Joy

1 Corinthians 12: 4-11 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different

kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.

A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another the same Spirit gives a message of special knowledge. The same Spirit gives great faith to another, and to someone else the one Spirit gives the gift of healing. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said. It is the one and only Spirit who distributes all these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.

Women’s Ministries is not always a formal structured ministry and/or event in a church, but rather it is the simple act of women ministering to women. Whenever I have gone around our District, I’ve found churches that have this kind of Women’s Ministries – organic and natural. Bible study groups formed out of the desire to get into the Word. Events to celebrate something, fundraisers for worthy causes, or to just have a party – these are often where we get to know each other and begin to do what women love to do…. We love to minister, to nurture, to take care of each other.

We also have some churches that have organized, growing and very well-planned Women’s Ministries. They too, have taken the heart call of women to nurture and have led women into ministries that go far beyond what we can do on our own.

Whatever your “Women’s Ministry” looks like, it will indeed have the heart of the women closely attached. As a team, we desire to be available to help you in your calling to women. Please make use of our resources here and if you have some information to share, please let us know and we’ll do our best to provide information to all our churches in our Canadian Pacific District.
