“God, cause me to know it afresh today; the life that counts blessings discovers its yielding much more than it seems. And my life yields most when I yield most to you…”
- Ann Voskamp
As I look back over my life and even recently, I’m often disappointed in the lack of greatness. I’ve lived my life longing for greatness, longing to make a huge contribution somewhere, somehow. And then I consider my sweet Mom. There was no great act or accomplishment that we could point to at the memorial, but rather an amazing testimony of one who lived her life for others. It’s in the little, seemingly insignificant daily sacrifices of love that her little became great.
When I consider the impact of a simple life spent on others, I am in awe of how God uses even those who have no fame, title or prestige. He uses us, humanity to bless others. And then, I am humbled that God has given me the days, hours, and minutes thus far in my life, and I ask Him to multiply my little in the same way as He did for my Mom.
Prayer: Lord, I surrender my remaining days, hours and minutes back to You. Use me Lord for Your purposes no matter how small or insignificant they may appear to be. Amen.
