Love Flowing Through Me

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Rom 5: 1 - 2

I think as a long-time Christian, it’s easy to forget the wonder of my salvation. Thinking about the words peace, grace and hope, they are only attainable through Jesus Christ. No one can have peace with God unless they believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is why there is so much uncertainty and striving when following other religions.

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Rom 5: 5

God’s love has been poured into our hearts. I believe this means that we are to in turn overflow with love to those around us. We’re like those sculptural fountains where water flows through us, creatively, to the next piece below us. We are created to be God’s masterpiece, but a functional one, overflowing with God’s love. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2: 10

I am a masterpiece. God created me as a unique, beautiful woman with my own personality, gifts and abilities. He wants to use me to fill a specific niche. I don’t do this on my own; the Holy Spirit empowers me although I don't understand it.

Think about it… I have the Holy Spirit living in me, pouring God’s love into me! How amazing is this! Lord, help me to live as a person who has your love flowing through me!
