Reflections of Joy: Ask, Seek, Knock

Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you, seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Jesus gives the instruction – ask, seek, knock. This is how I receive, see, and have the way opened. When I trustingly come and look for His provision, He provides. I am an empty vessel each day needing His filling. And, just like an empty vase begs and waits for the beauty of flowers to fill its bowl, I implore and wait for His beauty to come. I watch for it, I ask for it, and I stand at heaven’s door each morning and wait for it to be opened to me.

When I come to Him, I come humbly trusting to receive, otherwise He would not have told us to ask, seek and knock. His faithfulness goes from generation to generation and it’s the same for me today.

My prayer is: “Lord, today I come asking for You to open my eyes to see Your beauty and Your grace gifts; I come seeking for Your will to be revealed to my soul; and, I come with persistence, knocking on heaven’s gate to bring my requests before Your throne – Your throne of mercy.

Thank You Oh God for Your amazing gifts of love and grace, and for Your faithfulness to Your people. May I always look to You for the filling of my vase with Your beauty. Amen”
