Reflections of Joy: Call to Worship

Do I hear it? Do I hear the call to worship? Do I hear it throughout my day?

When the morning summer sun wakes me, do I give thanks? When the spring rains fall, do I give thanks? When the autumn leaves fall to the ground, do I give thanks? When the winter cold and snow come, do I give thanks?

The Word of God says “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

When I wake up each day, my early thoughts can take me down the path of discouragement, but as I offer an early sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, my mood changes. Each day is truly a gift and is waiting to be unwrapped. Even in the trials and testings there is the gift of His presence, His help and His comfort.

I just need to open my eyes – my spiritual eyes to all the good set before me. Psalm 23 is a never-ending promise of His love and care. Awake my soul to all He has for me. His grace is sufficient for me.
