Reflections of Joy: Perspectives

I have this mirror – it’s a magnifying mirror. It takes small pores and unwanted little hairs and makes them large – REALLY – larger than life. When I look in the tell-tale mirror each morning, my world becomes small. My world becomes just the size of my face. And, that’s all I see. I have to wonder if I take that lens with me throughout the day, blowing up the small issues into big ones, focusing on me, myself and I?

How much better it would be to look at life and the world as if standing at the base of the magnificent Rocky Mountains, or standing on a beach that opens up to the vast ocean as the waves come crashing in. In those settings, I become very small and my world becomes large and there’s no way to be stuck in the “me” syndrome. My heart is full of the greatness and grandeur of all creation. As Luke recorded the words of Jesus… “I tell you that if these (believers) should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out (sing praises).”

All creation points to our God who made heaven and earth. So let us join all creation and sing praises to Him.
