Reflections of Joy: Seeds of Faith

Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
Tiny seeds are objects of promise and faith. We look at them and without the belief that once planted and watered, they will bring a harvest, we would never put them into the soft earth.
It takes faith to plant a garden, water it, and wait for the plants to appear. In the same way, we begin our journey of faith and trust. We can’t see the fruit of our prayers or the fruit of our obedience immediately. Often, we have to continue believing and watering for a very long time. But God’s timing for the harvest is always perfect and so our place is to simply trust Him, to hold fast to the truth that seeds have been planted and the germination process is still at work.
Just like a young farmer after his first year of sowing seeds and harvesting the crop has the confidence for the next year – I too, must look at what I have seen God do for me and get ready to sow more seeds of faith in order to reap the harvest. And, I wonder if the Lord is storing up all the harvest of the saints to serve back to us one day at the great marriage supper of the Lamb in heaven? A feast of blessings!
